If I could choose one word to describe my 2014 year, it would be flourishing!
I’ve always wondered why the beginning of the year is always at the worst possible weather season (at least in Ga). Everything is cold, dark and dreary. It all seems dead and it just gets to ya! But like the saying goes, it’s always darkest before the dawn, so maybe there is some truth to it?
The beginning of this year, I prayed that just as the seasons changed and the blooms began to come, that God would do the same change within my life. That as spring and summer came, my own life would thrive and flourish.
And so it did! Man oh man, God is faithful and He really does know exactly how to make things flourish.
Here’s a quick recap of my year, along with some goofy moments.
Bekah and BJ got married! Bekah has been one of my best friends since we were probably 14. So happy for her and Ben!
Then a few weeks later, the snowpocalypse pt. 1 happened.Thankfully I was able to make to my grandmas house. And thankfully I had my camera with me.
And it turned into ice. But at least we were prepared!
After almost a year of planning and storing furniture in random places…I officially moved out! Bittersweet but God has blessed my every step. Along with moving came a lot of adult lessons and purchases. It was like Christmas when we got our own washer and dryer. Hallelujah! And don’t even get me started about Comcast (that’s a whole other story). It has been a blast this year!
Later in March my sister, Amy got married! Of all of the weddings I have been to, i’ve never been a bridesmaid before. So I thought it was super sweet to be apart of Nick and Amy’s wedding. I am so thankful that my friend, Jessica, was able to photograph everything. It was so refreshing to just enjoy the sweet moments and not pick up my camera. I took a total of 2 pictures with my phone, but other than that….nada. Total bliss!
Nick and Amy were the cutest!
Spring engagement session with Preston and Lizzy at Rope Mill Park. Spring was in the air and things were warming up.
Had a great time with Justin and Heather at their engagement session! And of course, can’t forget Elvis! My first ever Greek wedding! Opa! Christina and Matt were so sweet.
Absolutely beautiful! And you can’t forget the windex!
HEDGE graduation 2014! Crazy to think that one day I would be photographing this, when it seems just like yesterday that I graduated.
Brian and Ashleigh got married on Memorial day weekend! Such a beautiful day!
Behind the scenes fun! Sara, being an awesome assistant and testing the light.
After much waiting and lots of saving….I was able to buy my dream camera! Full frame baby!
Went on a vacation with the family! YES.
Preston and Lizzy tied the knot at the beautiful Roswell Founders Hall. We were able to work with some wonderful videographers. Paparazzi team!
Never a dull moment! Germs anyone?
Made the leap and became a member of Professional Photographers of America!
As a photographer, you never really get a lot of photos of yourself….imagine that! So my photographer friend, Sara and I decided to trade headshots. So fun! You really do learn a lot by having your picture taken. Gives you a new perspective!
Celebrated 4th of July with a BANG! So glad to welcome my friend Chaz back home! Safe and sound!
Photographed some tasty snowcones!
This is probably one of my favorite photoshoots this year! Sparks flew!
Jewelry shoot for Abbey! Check out her work here!
My dear friend Katie got married! And I absolutely loved these cotton fields!
Aaron and Katie are so perfect together! So happy to capture their wedding!
Cute bridal shower! Put together by Extraordinaire Affairs.
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
October flew by so fast! I just remember taking pictures and then coming home to recharge my batteries; repeat. Looking back, I can’t believe how many photoshoots happened! It was a roller coaster and I loved it!
Joseph and Amanda had a beautiful fall wedding. The leaves had just started to change color and it was gorgeous.
Canoeing with my friend Cassandra! At first I was worried that I would somehow drop my camera in the lake….but we survived! So glad I brought it. SO glad we didn’t flip.
Evan and Jessica had such a sweet engagement session. And their dog was so awesome!
Tipi raising party! Yes, some my good friends have a tipi in their back yard and every year we get together and the tipi is built. Coolest thing ever!
Then we go on a night hike to Lake Allatoona. Stars always put me in awe of how amazing God is. Photographed Mindy and Brad at Marietta square. We had a funny run-in with a very strange man with his dog. One of those “you had to be there” moments. Hilarious!
My pastor’s family. Aka; the Crawfords! Downtown Woodstock was perfect for them!
Amy & Memphis at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Memphis is such a ham!
November is my favorite time of year! Started it off with Randy and Randee‘s gender reveal! So excited that they are having a boy! Justin and Heather got married! My last wedding of the year and it was great!Behind the scenes!
Hey, there’s Katie! Master of posing!
Hehe!So happy for Justin and Heather!Oh, and I guess I’ll go ahead and confess. Even though I’m not a huge fan of cake, I always make it a point to try it at every wedding.
Let’s just say….I’ve had a lot of cake!
Family pictures for the Richards family. Little Alden has the bluest eyes!
Family pictures with the Fosters. Love photographing them throughout the years! Thanksgiving pictures with the Brown family. These are all of their great-grandkids! These two have been married for 70 years! And obviously still very much in love.
Christmas time! Senior pictures for Will. His grandfathers old uniform was so cool! Such a unique shoot! I do love a good Christmas party! The Capital Transportation Solutions group sure knows how to celebrate!
I had a wonderful Christmas break with my family! Some much needed rest and relaxation.
My very last photoshoot of the year! Family pictures for Dacia’s family. Remember Amanda and Joseph back in October? Time sure does fly!
And that’s a wrap! What a wonderful year! I’ve photographed so many fantastic people this year and I’ve made a lot of new friends. You don’t know how much happens in a year until you go back and look. And boy, oh boy! My cup was overflowing!
I am so thankful to everyone who has been a part of this last year. You are all amazing!
God continues to bless me each day and I am going to continue to give Him all of the glory! With a heart full of wonderful memories of 2014, I am looking forward to this next year!
