When I first met Emily, we were tubing down the Chattahoochee River/ aka, shootin-the-hooch with friends. You really do grow a special bond with anyone you go tubing down the Chattahoochee with for 5+ hours. It is an adventure for sure! Emily has to be the most graceful and elegant person i’ve ever met. And I think you can easily tell that in any picture she’s in. Makes my job so easy! It was such an honor to photograph their wedding last weekend at Westminister Presbyterian church. The weather was perfect and everything matched it. Romantic, sweet and bright – just like them!
Emily and Devon first met in college while running cross country and the story goes from there. I know Devon was so excited to see Emily during their first look. I can easily recall him say “WOW” the minute he saw her. A lot of couples think that seeing each other beforehand breaks tradition and takes away from the bride walking down the isle – but I think it adds a new tradition and creates more time to spend with each other on your wedding day. Plus…you can say “WOW” outloud when you see your bride or say “your suit looks great!” or “can you tell i’m wearing fake eyelashes?” Etc, etc….Just adds more memories you can share together! And calms your nerves.
We first photographed the ceremony at the church and then headed to the reception at Vecoma. Two stunning locations! Also….my favorite part of the day, was the guests surprise of King of Pops after the ceremony. Best popsicles ever!
Take a look at some of my favorite pictures from their wedding day!
This library was the perfect location for the guys! They were cracking me up with the globe photo, showing where the honeymoon was going to be.
Now for the first-look! I get butterflies ever time I photograph these….no matter who’s wedding it is. I feel just as excited as they are!
Since we were ahead of schedule, we took a few bridal party photos before the ceremony started. Great timing!
Then off to the reception! Vecoma at Yellow River had the best spot for their portraits! We took these right before the reception and I am so in love with how they turned out! So dreamy!
Congratulations to Devon & Emily! May you grow closer together each day and love each other more and more! Have the best honeymoon at the beach!
