Dereck & Ginger

It was just 6 years ago when I met Ginger at Kennestone hospital, where we had both just been hired to photograph newborn babies. Oh man, were we newbies then or what! Having no idea what we were doing and kinda having been thrown into photographing strangers babies – you really do grow a bond with your coworkers who are in the boat as you. There had to be so many times where we shared hilarious stories of “you will NEVER guess what just happened!” We could easily write a book of all that we learned and experienced. I have since left the babies to pursue my wedding photography and Ginger has now moved up to management with the company. It’s amazing what can happen in 6 years!

During that time, I was able to get to know Ginger and the hilarious spunky soul that she is. You always want your friends to marry their dream guy and never settle for less than they deserve. So after meeting Dereck, it was obvious that she had found her match! There were few times during their wedding that we were not cracking up with these two. Full of laughter and joy for life!

The first part of the day was spent at Ginger’s friend Mindy’s plantation house (which I secretly want to have her house) This was where we took a majority of photos before the ceremony and I am so happy with how beautiful everything was! Since Dereck and Ginger did a ‘first look” we were able to take most of their photos before the ceremony so they could spend more time at the reception & spend more of the day together. I love it!

When we arrived at the reception, I was amazed at how each detail fit them perfectly! From the bumble bee tie pin & hair piece (the met online with bumble) to each garden centerpiece (You guys know Ginger has a gift for gardening) My ultimate favorite detail was the handcrafted wooden quilt they made for the altar. I still can’t believe they made this!! And when you flip it around, it doubled as their guestbook.

I could write on-and-on about how cool this wedding was! So instead, I’ll let the photos share the story of the day. Congratulations Dereck & Ginger!!

Thank you to the amazing group of vendors who made everything flawless and amazing!

I love this first look! This is how my husband and I first saw each other, so it was really sweet to photograph Ginger and Dereck this way.

Then we headed to the ceremony at Parkers Place. This place was full of southern charm! And the most hilarious, macho man gift….Ginger gave Dereck his very own wrestler belt! Haha, best gift ever!

Since Ginger is also a photographer, she did a photoshoot years ago using these streamers and had always thought they were amazing! So instead of a traditional exit, we did one epic guest shot with the streamers! So Much Fun!!

Congratulations Ginger & Dereck! Enjoy this next adventure of marriage! You are going to love it! -Audrey
