Mark and Heather held their wedding last weekend at the beautiful Peachtree Presbyterian Church with their reception at the grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead. When I first met Heather, she told me that the reason she was drawn to having their wedding at Peachtree, was because their family had special memories there and one of them being that her daughter first went to preschool at the church. It was the same chapel where she attended her school orientation – which is such a sweet memory. The one thing that held the most value for them was the sacredness of their covenant before God, so having their ceremony in such a beautiful chapel was so fitting for them.
Mark and Heather met a few years ago and started their friendship. It was recently that they reconnected and immediately hit it off. When you know, you know! Mark and Heather both have two beautiful daughters and they were so sweet and cute throughout the whole day. It was at their engagement session this summer that we learned that both girls love to twirl their dresses, so this came in handy when we took the pictures at the wedding. Their flower girl twirling photos were so cute!
When I first arrived at the getting ready location and I walked in the room and I saw Heather, she had the biggest smile on her face – she was so joyful! Throughout the whole day Mark and Heather had the attitude of being so thankful for each other. Every once and a while you would see them give each other glances across cross the room that spoke volumes of how much they truly loved and appreciated each other.
I’m so glad that we were able to start off their pictures at the grand Hyatt with their first look. Come to find out, the Grand Hyatt was previously a Japanese hotel, so on the garden terrace there is a Japanese garden that is so beautiful. It was the perfect location for their portraits together. There is also a secret waterfall in the hotel. I don’t even know how to describe it other than…it was amazing! You would never guess that these photos were taken in the heart of the city. Beautiful hidden gem!
We had amazing time photographing Mark and Heather and their beautiful ceremony as well as capturing their family and friends who were there to celebrate their marriage. And a special thank you to all of the vendors who brought everything together- this was the dream team!

Now time for their first look – which guys…I LOVE first looks! Especially with seeing Marks reaction!
Isn’t Heather just so gorgeous! And check out the secret waterfall in the next photo – so amazing!
Next, we headed to the church for some pre-wedding photos and then ceremony time!
These girls were serious about their dress twirling!
Ceremony time!
Immediately after the ceremony we had scheduled a time to photograph Mark and Heather after they were married and we are hopeful that it would be around sunset. Unfortunately the storm clouds blew through and we were about to experience some brain but that did not stop us from creating a really fun sunset look for them. With the help of my second shooter, a flash and some creativity we were able to create this romantic sunset look for Mark & Heather. No sunset needed!
We all headed to Grand Hyatt Atlanta for the reception. I love getting to photograph the reception space while it is empty before guest come inside. Such romantic details!
Sometimes during the reception, there might be a time when everyone is dancing that I am able to sneak away the brode and groom for a fun night shot! The Grand Hyatt has a beautiful chandelier, so we just had to take advantage of it! I am so glad we were able to take these before Mark & Heathers sparkler exit.
Congratulations Mark & Heather! May you love each other more and more as the years go by. I am so thrilled for your family and I hope you guys have the best honeymoon in Hawaii!
