It’s very rare that I ever get teared up at weddings – but this was one so touching that I found myself getting choked up a few times during their day. Ashli & Mitch first met while they were on tour in Afghanistan. Their faith grew them closer to each other as a couple as the Lord began a new work in their lives – leading up to getting married! Each detail and decision they made for their wedding was a reflection of their love for each other and their story.
For Ashli and Mitch, their wedding was more than a just a big party or fancy occasion but rather the covenant of their two lives coming together. As Ashli stated I her vows- their marriage, just as a tree, would provide shade to others and be a source of encouragement and example of Gods goodness. I truly feel like I witnessed two superhero’s coming together to conquer the world; ok – maybe that’s a little theatrical, but it just goes to show how much of an impact these two make together. From their friends from Afghanistan, to their closest family and friends- they are surrounded by such a wonderful support system. It was such an honor to photograph their wedding!
“They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” Jeremiah 17:8
