Barrington Hall & Roswell Mill were the perfect locations for this sunny and romantic engagement session! While they currently live in Texas, Cat & Sam made a weekend trip to Atlanta just so we could take their engagement pictures. What a special trip for them! I know these two truly enjoyed the cooler temps here in Georgia since they have been experiencing temps in the 90’s over in Texas. Talk about HOT! I am so thankful that the weather was beautiful for them and their quick weekend here in Georgia.
While thinking of locations for this session, I knew I wanted to find somewhere unique and beautiful for them. I asked around to a few photographer friends of mine to see where they have loved taking pictures lately…..and a lot of them recommended Barrington Hall in Roswell. So there we went!
You would never guess it, but as soon as we arrived to Barrington Hall….there had to be 100 highschoolers there taking homecoming pictures. We had NO idea they were going to be there! But lo and behold, it was not the end of the world. They all ended up going to homecoming and we were able to get the whole place to ourselves. And it ended up being perfect lighting then anyways, so that was perfect! During the first few photos we took, we noticed this strange fruit tree. Maybe lemons or some sort of citrus? After some further investigation, I discovered that they were trifoliate orange; also known as the Japanese Bitter Orange.
Afterwards we stopped by the Roswell Mill Waterfall and got some beautiful photographs of Cat & Sam. All of us had never actually been to the waterfall before. (side note- guys…I’ve taken photos at the mill SO many times and had no idea that this waterfall was only a few steps away). I can’t believe I had been missing out on this waterfall. What a fun discovery!
I can’t wait to celebrate these two coming up in a few short weeks at the Payne-Corley House! (Makes me think back to Katherine & Jeffrey’s wedding) It’s going to be such a great time!
