Elizabeth & Phillip’s Intimate Spring Big Canoe Wedding

A Personal Connection

This wedding was extra special because I’ve known Lizzie for several years. Seeing her with Phillip, her perfect match, was heartwarming. Lizzie radiates kindness and warmth, while Phillip’s humor and energy bring joy to everyone around him. Together, they’re the kind of couple who make everyone feel at home.

Rainy Forecast, Cozy Ceremony

With a forecast calling for nearly 100% rain, plans had to shift. The ceremony was moved under the reception tent, which ended up creating the most cozy, intimate setting. Surrounded by family and friends, Elizabeth & Phillip’s vows felt even more meaningful.

Sunshine & Portraits at the Beach

After the ceremony, something magical happened—the rain stopped, and the sun peeked out! It felt like nature itself was celebrating their love. We headed to the beach for portraits, capturing their joy against the backdrop of fresh spring light. Those portraits are some of my favorite moments of the day.

Sweet Details & Celebration

One of the highlights of the reception was The Blonding Swan’s coffee cart. It was such a thoughtful touch, offering guests a warm treat while they laughed, mingled, and celebrated Elizabeth & Phillip. Every detail reflected their personalities—fun, welcoming, and joyful.

The Emotion of the Day

There was an overwhelming sense of community and gratitude throughout the day. The rain gave everyone a “we made it” kind of spirit, reminding us all that nothing—not even the weather—could overshadow the love and joy of this wedding.

Final Thoughts

As a Big Canoe wedding photographer, I was reminded once again why I love capturing these stories. Weddings are about more than perfect weather—they’re about love, resilience, and the people who come together to celebrate. Elizabeth & Phillip’s wedding will always be a shining example of that truth. I would love to chat with you about capturing your story. Reach out to me here.
