Corey and Amber’s wedding at Berry college was a wedding i’ll never forget. Berry College is such a beautiful venue; it seriously looked like a castle from a fairy tale. I caught myself daydreaming & getting lost in the amazing architecture. This made it the perfect background for Corey & Ambers wedding nuptials.
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes info about how they first met: After meeting each other a few times at a collage ministry (Baptist Collegiate Ministries), Corey & Amber’s friendship grew into a relationship. Their dating journey began and their love for each other began to grow. They say their first “official” date was getting sushi, but they didn’t count it until they were officially dating! I’m sure that all of their friends could agree; something was up! Day after day they came to find out; they were meant for each other!
After dating several months, Corey decided to pop the question! What seemed to be a weekend in Chattanooga to “look at rings”, little did Amber know that her family and friends would be there for the biggest surprise of her life! Corey suggested they walk across the main bridge, and right underneath the bridge was their friends and family holding up a huge sign that said “Amber, will you marry me?” Her answer was obvious!
Fast forward to their wedding day; a perfect summer day! I met up with the girls first to capture a few details of them getting ready. Amber was as chill as a cucumber. As the wedding preparations were underway, Ambers father was anxiously waiting upstairs. He just couldn’t wait to see Amber!
We set up a “first look” with her dad and his reaction was perfect!
He then grabbed a letter out of his jacket pocket to hand to Amber; a letter from the groom. How sweet to see the same hands that held this letter, would be the hands to later give his daughter away in marriage. You could just feel the joy and teary eyes all throughout the room. This is the part that you never want to forget; the small moments before the big moments.
This was one of the sweetest groups of bridesmaids! They were all overjoyed for Amber. I loved getting to photograph them all together. We took these quickly, right outside the church (only a few steps away from AC) because it was getting pretty hot outside. But these girls were amazing! No complaints about it being hot; they really were so excited!
A little while later I went to check in on the guys. I had not met Corey before, but I instantly knew that he had such a sincere heart. We stepped outside to get a few portraits before the ceremony. I will never forget Corey telling me “I just can’t wait to see Amber”. Talk about the sweetest couple ever!
One of my favorite moments is seeing the grooms reaction to his bride coming down the isle. Corey could barely contain his joy! Love it!
I absolutely love these next moments that happen right after the wedding. The “just married” couple photos. I don’t know if it’s because they are still taking it all in and processing it all, but their feelings for each other come across so easily in front of the camera.
Amber surprised her dad with a slideshow of photos from her childhood. Everyones heartstrings were being pulled and not a dry eye was in sight!
The photo bliss does not stop here! Right before Corey & Amber left for their honeymoon, they wanted to sneak over to the popular scenic tree-line to get a few pictures (which is gorgeous!) The sun was just about to set, but we made it there just in time. The results were stunning!
Corey & Amber, thank you so much for being such an amazing couple to work with! I’m so happy to have been able to capture your story. May each day together get sweeter & sweeter. And as time goes by, I hope these images remind you of how incredible your wedding day was and the love you felt in each moment.
