Tim & Lindsay | Southern Magnolia Wedding at Brawner Hall – Smyrna, Georgia

Tim & Lindsay

Brawner Hall, Smyrna Georgia Wedding Photographer

First things first….this is one of the sweetest couples! Lindsay and Tim are the perfect match and I have been looking forward to their wedding since the first day I met them. You can instantly tell that they both have huge hearts for helping others and are truly authentic in everything they do. Their relationship all started with a random car ride that brought them together. Completely hilarious & random. It wasn’t until they reconnected years later that they just *knew* down in their hearts that they were meant to be. Fast forward to this last weekend where they joined their lives together amongst their closest friends and family – it was like a movie. The fall weather was not too hot or too cold; but the perfect balance that makes you feel like it’s fall. Together with their southern magnolia blossoms, heirloom details and sweet sentiments; everything was beautiful!

You guys are going to love their details! When Lindsay told me all the things they had planned, I could hardly wait to photograph their day! They did an amazing job of incorporating personal heirlooms into their wedding – nobody else could copy them if they tried. These details are only personal to them; and I love that! The pearls above, were her grandmothers. Nothing is classier than pearls.

One of my favorite details was Lindsay’s dress. This was her grandmothers wedding dress from the 1950’s. It looked amazing on her and was in amazing condition; I would have thought she bought it from a boutique! So gorgeous!

Lindsay’s garters were handmade by La Gartier using lace from her grandmothers wedding gloves. How sweet it that!

There were a few pieces left of the lace, so I incorporated that into her details.

Their invitation suite was designed by one of her bridesmaids, Lauren Testa. It matched their wedding perfectly!

Each bridesmaid found their dress at different boutiques and stores. No two were the same but they went together so well. I think that’s a lot like friendships. Each friendship is different, but on a wedding day, they all come together wonderfully and compliment the bride. Friendships are made that way!

Tim & Lindsay decided on a “first look” and their reactions were adorable. Not many people realize that by doing a first look, you get to spend more of your wedding day together. Lindsay & Tim could not stop smiling the entire day and it was so apparent that they loved each other.

Also by doing a first look, we were able to photograph their entire bridal party before the ceremony. You would think that with 10 bridesmaids & 10 groomsmen that it would be a little chaotic. But not at all; they were such an amazing group of people!! Each one so joyful to be there and supportive this couple. By photographing everyone beforehand, this gave us more time after the wedding for Lindsay & Tim’s pictures together as a married couple! Which I think are the most important pictures!

Their officiant was a close friend that Lindsay sings with in the group, Song of Atlanta. With each wedding she officiates, she sings a small passage as part of the ceremony. It was so touching! I also loved how Tim & Lindsay were all smiles during the ceremony. I think they were a bit excited to be getting married! 😉 And you guys…..the ring bearer, was serious about his job! Cutest thing in the world!

Married portraits! There’s just something sweet about the first few pictures you take as husband & wife. Such a special memory!

At the reception, each guest card included a note explaining that a donation would be given to Atlanta Lab Rescue in lieu of favors. Lindsay is a lead volunteer with Atlanta Rescue, so it was such cool thing to incorporate.

If there was an award for best mother-in-law, it would easily go to Tim’s mother! She made their wedding cake and guestbook. Each square of cloth that was signed, will be sewn into a quilt for Lindsay & Tim. Amazing!!

No holding back of the dance moves with this group!

Later into the reception, I love to sneak the bride & groom away for a few creative night shots. It’s super romantic and adds a different look to your wedding pictures. This really reminds me of the movie, Beauty and The Beast. After he turns into a prince of course! Haha.

This truly is a wedding I will never forget. I felt as if I was photographing close friends of mine and watching them enter into the next season of their lives. I remember Lindsay telling me “I can’t believe we are here!” right before she went to see Tim for the first time. This is why I love photographing weddings and being a part of stories like these. Congratulations Tim & Lindsay! Enjoy each day together as husband and wife! Marriage is the best and I know you will love it!
