Savannah Georgia Wedding

Savannah is one of the most iconic Georgia cities in the south! Undoubtedly, you can look at an image and immediately know that it was taken right off the coast in Savannah. If you have never visited here before, you must put it your travel bucket list! Just a quick 4-5 hours from Atlanta and you will feel like you are in a completely different state. I kept saying “look, that car is from Georgia” like a complete goober. Hello, I was in Georgia!! Haha!

The cobblestone streets, mossy trees and slow southern vibes will make you feel like you stepped into a southern novel. It’s no wonder that people refer it to being such a romantic city! The most fitting place for a wedding! When Kayla first contacted me about their wedding, I was thrilled to be a part of their story and could not wait for their wedding. The countdown was real! I have traveled to Savannah several times and I’ve always dreamed of photographing a wedding here someday (i’d even point out good photo locations to my husband as we explored) Sorry husband!! I couldn’t help but dream of shooting here one day- dreams do come true! And everything about Kayla and Jared’s wedding weekend was just as I imagined it. Beautiful and meaningful and full of love and joy!

On the weekend leading up to their wedding, I must have checked the weather radar 100 times and on various websites….you know, just in case one of them was wrong. There were some intense thunderstorms on the horizon with a 80% chance of rain. I’m pretty sure between me and their family…..we prayed those rain clouds away! It ended up being an overcast day with beautiful light. It not only showcased how beautiful Savannah is, but let us have the best picture opportunities for this amazing couple.

I could not think of a better weekend for such a well deserving couple! Kayla and Jared both work in the medical field – (Kayla a PA and Jared a doctor) so between these two, they are always taking care of others and putting others needs first. It was such a fun day to make sure these two were the top priority so they could fully relax and enjoy the day! I even caught Kayla putting a bandaid on her dad’s hand just minutes before they walked down the aisle. Talk about a caring heart!

These are just a few of my favorite images from their day! I had such a hard time narrowing down which images to share on their blog post, because everything was beautiful from start to finish! Savannah was everything I hoped it would be and more! From now on, when I visit Savannah, I will always think of Kayla and Jared and their sweet wedding weekend. Love it!

I also want to make a shout out to all of the amazing vendors who were such a blast to work with! You guys are amazing! Let’s do another wedding together soon!

We did a quick “first look” with dad before we hopped on the trolly to the church. I loved his reaction!

I absolutely love the square that is right next to First Baptist of Savannah. Just a few months ago I was in Savannah and parked right across from the church (not even realizing that this is where this wedding would be) It was as if God was setting me up with location ideas before I even knew i’d be here again 2 months later. So when it came time for the girls pictures, I was ready! And this location was perfect!

As I was photographing the girls, my second shooter Molly was at The Landings photographing the guys. This is the best part of having two photographers! We can be working in 2 locations at the same time and creating more images of the day. These guys sure do look like they were having fun!

Now to the church for the ceremony!

I love these moments when they realize “I’m married!”

We took a few pictures near the church before we headed back to the Landings. I always love these first few pictures with the bride and groom right after the ceremony. They are so happy and excited to be married!

Back to the reception! Thank goodness for this trolley. Savannah has very limited parking in the downtown area, so these trolley’s were a lifesaver! Also…I could not get over how beautiful the Landings were! Seriously a photographers dream! We didn’t have to go far to find beautiful locations for their pictures!

“Can you guys jump like you are married now?!” And then let’s head to the reception!

Jared is a huge batman fan (who can blame him!) so of course, his grooms cake was spot on!

One of my favorite moments was when Jared surprised Kayla and sang the song “A Million Dreams” from the movie “The Greatest Showman”. It was the sweetest thing ever!

Dancing time!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Dr. Jared Buchan (that has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it!?) Wishing you both the best marriage adventure ahead! Best wedding ever!!
