Colin and Rachel chose Mimosa Gardens in Downtown Roswell for their engagement session—and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Though the city is still renovating the property for future events, the outdoor gardens are already a stunning backdrop. With pathways, blooms, and historic charm, it gave off a serene, Savannah-like ambiance.
Rachel and Colin met in September 2020 in Columbia, South Carolina at a Gamecock football watch party. Tennis matches, dinners, and late-night porch talks filled their early days. When Rachel moved to Greenville, SC for graduate school, they spent two years in a long-distance relationship that only deepened their bond. In June 2023, Colin joined her in Greenville, and not long after, he proposed privately on Sassafras Mountain on Rachel’s birthday.
Now, they spend their days hiking, biking, playing tennis—and planning a life together. Their engagement session felt like a celebration of everything they’ve grown through and dreamed up together.
Like many couples, Colin and Rachel arrived with a touch of excited/nervous energy. But within minutes, we were laughing and moving through playful, easy prompts that allowed their personalities to shine. By the time we hit our second spot in the garden, they were total naturals.
Of course, we can’t forget Boone! Their beloved pup added an extra dose of charm and authenticity to the session. Whether he was trotting alongside or being snuggled between photos, Boone’s presence reminded us what engagement sessions are really about: capturing your real life – dog included!
This space is a dream for couples who want history & nature. As Roswell continues to develop this area, it’s bound to become a premier engagement and wedding destination.
