I’ve been so excited to share this blog post! Today I’m sitting down with my videographer friend, Gracie, to talk all things Atlanta wedding video and photo. In this post, she is sharing her perspective of what makes a great collaboration between a videographer and photographer and how we work together to serve our couples with ease and excellence. Whether you’re newly engaged or finalizing your vendor team, this interview offers a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work with both of us on your wedding day.
When it comes to your wedding day, every moment matters—and preserving those memories through both photography and videography ensures you can relive the magic for a lifetime. As an Atlanta-based wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of working alongside Gracie and Angelo of Felix Wedding Films at numerous weddings. Together, we create a seamless, luxury experience for couples who want their day captured with intentionality, artistry, and care.

Q: Can you introduce yourself and your team? How did you get started in wedding videography?
Hey, I’m Gracie Felix! My husband, Angelo, and I are the heart behind Felix Wedding Films. Together, we lead a small team of incredibly talented filmmakers who are passionate about preserving the beauty and emotion of our couples’ wedding weekends. We’ve been in the wedding world for about six years now, and what started as a creative passion quickly turned into a deep calling to help couples relive some of the most meaningful days of their lives—surrounded by all the people they love most.
Q: What is your signature style when it comes to capturing weddings?
We’d describe our style as documentary with an intentional approach. We focus on capturing real and authentic moments—the joyful, tearful, and everything in between—rather than overly posed or staged shots. That said, we do step in gently when needed, especially during portraits or moments that benefit from a little direction. We like to say we’re a blend of friend and fly on the wall. We know when to offer support and when to simply fade into the background and let the moment unfold naturally.
Q: How do you work with photographers on the wedding day to ensure everything flows smoothly?
Clear communication is everything. Our goal is for the couple to have an amazing experience—not just with their films, but with their entire vendor team. We work closely with the photographer and planner to make sure we’re aligned and not stepping on anyone’s toes (literally or figuratively!). During portraits, we typically film while the photographer shoots so we’re all making the most of the time. We’ll offer gentle prompts that work beautifully for video and often enhance photos too. Ultimately, we’re all part of a team, and we’re there to support each other so our couple has the best day possible.
Q: Why is it beneficial for couples to book a videographer and photographer who are familiar with each other’s style?
When your videographer and photographer share a similar style and approach, the day just flows more effortlessly. If one leans toward candid moments and the other prefers heavy posing, there’s going to be a disconnect—not just in how the day feels but also in how your final memories look. When our styles are in sync, we can work in harmony, and the couple ends up with cohesive, beautifully captured memories that feel seamless from start to finish.

Q: How do you help couples plan the video timeline alongside their photography schedule?
Since our filming style leans more documentary, we don’t typically create a separate timeline. Instead, we collaborate closely with the planner and photographer to make sure there’s enough space built in for us to fully capture key moments on video. For example, a first look is a beautiful moment on camera—not just visually, but emotionally, and we always capture professional audio too. Most photo timelines naturally work for video as well, but if we notice any tight spots, we’ll make gentle suggestions to ensure we have what we need to tell the full story.
Q: What key moments do you prioritize filming during a wedding day, and why?
We approach each wedding day as if we’re capturing and delivering everything, even if the couple hasn’t initially booked a full set of films. That way, if they decide later they’d like a full toasts or dances film, we have everything ready. We always film with multiple creative angles, use professional lighting when needed, and capture audio from multiple sources. The moments that include audio—like the first look, ceremony, and toasts—are especially meaningful. Audio is the center of a great wedding film; it’s how your story gets told in your own words and in the voices of those you love.
Q: What types of videos do you offer (e.g., highlight reels, full-length features)?
We offer a wide variety of films to suit each couple’s vision. Some of our most popular options include:
We love customizing options to match what matters most to each individual couple.
Q: Can you share a favorite story of a couple who booked both your video and Audrey’s photography services?
We love working with Audrey—it’s always such a seamless and joyful experience! One wedding that stands out involved a couple we referred to her. They had a unique wedding day spread across three different locations, which could have been stressful, but Audrey was calm, organized, and a true professional throughout. Her energy made the day feel smooth and easy, not just for the couple but for the entire vendor team. The couple had an amazing experience, and their gallery was absolutely stunning!

Q: What advice would you give couples who are debating between photography, videography, or both?
If there’s one thing we tell all our couples—it’s this: get both photo and video. And not just because this is what we do, but because we’ve lived it ourselves. Your wedding photos and films will be what you return to for the rest of your life. You may not remember every detail or every word, but your photos and videos will preserve the people, the emotions, and the memories. We’ve had couples start families, lose loved ones, and come back to us years later grateful to have those moments captured. One bride, after losing her father, asked for all the raw footage of their moments together. Being able to give her that piece of her story again was incredibly powerful. These aren’t just keepsakes—they’re heirlooms.
Q: What makes wedding video so special and complementary to wedding photography?
Photo and video tell the story in two different but beautifully connected ways. Photos freeze a moment in time, while video lets you experience it in motion—with voices, laughter, music, and all the emotion. Together, they allow you to relive the day completely. One isn’t a replacement for the other—they work hand in hand to capture your day in full.
