Yodahe & Katie

When I first talked with Katie over the phone about their wedding plans, she told me that the most important thing for them was that they be surrounded by their closest family & friends on their special day. They did not want to exclude anyone and wanted all of their friends and family to be a part of their day.  I loved that their focus was on including everyone and having a fun celebration!

Katie & Yoda (short for Yodahe) first met while working together at their church. It didn’t take long for them to realize that their friendship was growing into a beautiful relationship. Fast forward to their wedding day – they had everyone there who played a part of their story there to support their marriage. And I must say, I completely loved seeing Yoda’s reaction at their first look. He was smitten! And he was absolutely right, Katie was a beautiful bride!

My second favorite part of the day was the waffle house truck surprise! In lieu of a wedding cake, Katie and Yoda chose to have waffles for their wedding guests! And let me tell you … everyone loved this! Not only was it a hit with the attendees…it was a fun pop of color for their outdoor reception space. And the older gentleman inside the truck had to be the sweetest man as he took everyone’s waffle order. Could this seriously get any cuter?

As the reception progressed, there was a bit of a storm brewing in the sky – but that did not stop guests from dancing and having a great time! Isn’t life just like that? You just gotta dance in the storm! We had to make a quick action plan for the sparkler exit right before the rain came down. And just like with their support and love for Katie & Yoda’s relationship, each guest had the motto of “let’s make this happen!”. Everyone passed out sparklers and the line formed quickly to help beat the storm. And it worked!! Sparkler exit success!

Thank you to each and every person who has been influential to Katie & Yoda’s story and relationship. And of course, a huge congratulations to the newlyweds! May you both love, laugh and enjoy each day of your new marriage journey. Anytime I eat a waffle house waffle, I will remember you both! Congratulations again!
