Justin & Victoria | Winter Wedding at In The Woods

Justin & Victoria

West Georgia Wedding Photographer

In the small town of Rockmart Georgia, there is a woodsy and romantic wedding venue. In The Woods wedding venue has a cozy north Georgia feel, but is only around 30 minutes outside of Atlanta. Here on this brisk winter day, just a few days before Christmas, Victoria and Justin started the day to a chorus of camera clicks from this thrilled Atlanta wedding photographer to celebrate the best day of their lives.

The morning was all celebration and laughter. Decked out with monogrammed plaid shirts, the bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal cabin.  Meanwhile the groom and groomsmen got ready in the pool house right down the road from the girls. They both surrounded  themselves with their closest family members while they were getting ready which I think was so sweet.  I was able to photograph the girls altogether including Victoria‘s bridesman Blake, which she has been friends with ever since they were in kindergarten. How cute is that? Meanwhile my second shooter Abby was over with Justin and his brothers taking photos of them together. This is why I love having a second photographer with me at every wedding. We are able to photograph multiple things at the same time. Amazing!

I loved getting to know Victoria‘s uncles as we photographed them before the ceremony. They were so funny and easy going to joke around with. It was even extra special because Victoria‘s uncles were the ones who walked her down the aisle since Victoria‘s father had passed away when she was younger. It was so easy to pick up on the special bond of Victoria and her Aunts & Uncles and how they influenced Victoria and her life.  It was even more of an honor to photograph them all together. Victoria in her elegant Martina Liana bridal gown, looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle. I loved when she got to the front of the altar, her eyes were just beaming with happy tears. Her groom even had the biggest smile on his face as he saw her for the first time.

Under the expert guidance of the wedding coordinator, Kym, we were able to make a quick change of plans for the photography because there was a slight drizzle going on outside of the wedding gazebo. In the winter months, it can get darker pretty quickly outside and I knew that in order to get amazing photos for them – we were going to have to switch a few things around in their timeline. It could not have worked out more perfectly – as we started their photos, the rain completely stopped. I especially loved going to the dock and photographing them with their ceremony location behind them with all the twinkly lights. So romantic!

Surrounded by Christmas lights and the smell of their customized wedding cake flavors by Confection Perfection (which were amazing by the way) the festivities carried on well into the night. The bride and groom and turned the dance party up a notch by bringing out these fun oversize glow stick wands (if that is the correct name for them?) but everyone love them and they were such a hit on the dance floor!

A little bit later in the night, everyone lined up outside and the bride and groom sprinted through a tunnel of glittering sparklers. The light rain added theh prettiest effect – it looked like it was snowing. The party did not stop there; everyone looped back around and went back inside to continue dancing and celebrating Victoria and Justin! I love that while they were surrounded by their friends and family their life together as husband and wife began in such a celebratory way!

These are some of my favorite photographs from their day. Leave them some love below and comment your favorite photo of their day!
