Downtown Athens Wintery Wedding || Georgian Hall || Alexandra and Baylor

High school sweeties

Alexandra and Baylor have known each other since high school- making this sweet wedding feel long overdue for everyone! Alexandra and Baylor got married in downtown Athens at the Georgian Hall. This was so perfect for them considering Alexandra is currently attending veterinarian school at UGA! The Georgian Hall is nestled right downtown near the UGA Campus. Downtown Athens was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. The decorations and chilly air made for some stunning outdoor shots.

The Day at Georgian Hall

This chilly (for Georgia) day started for this couple with a first look. Alexandra and Baylor wanted to share a sweet moment together, before the crazy day began. My favorite moment from this part of the day was seeing Baylor tear up when he turned around to see Alexandra for the first time. It was so sweet to be a part of. Speaking of cold weather- I shot Alexandra and Baylor’s engagement photos on another VERY cold (for Georgia) day! Take a look back at their engagement photos from the blog post here. Thankfully the wedding venue was all indoors, so we only had to brave the cold for a short period of time.

Classic Elegance at the Georgian Hall

If Alexandra’s wedding dress didn’t simply say ‘Classic Elegance’ on its own, the venue did. The Georgian Hall was so beautifully decorated with soft florals, white linens and touches of gold throughout the ceremony and reception. My favorite part of the ceremony was the romantic harp music being played by a local musician. It created such a romantic atmosphere. After the ceremony, even though it was even colder than earlier in the day-  I snuck Alexandra and Baylor outside for some glowy sunset photos. The photos turned out gorgeous! I’m so glad they trusted me and braved the cold for a few more minutes!

OH! I almost forgot about this perfect nod to their alma mater. One of the photos of the reception you will see they had cowbells on every table. Instead of clinking glasses, guests would ring cowbells for the newlyweds to kiss! I thought it was just a unique twist on a classic tradition. BUT, google corrected me once again. The cowbell is actually a longstanding symbol or tradition of Mississippi State- where Alexandra and Baylor both graduated college.

A Winter Wedding Dance!

This elegant winter wedding ended with such a fun dance! Alexandra had a fun dress for the reception- I’m surprised she still wanted to change after I made her freeze her booty off for some photos. Everyone enjoyed the company of the newlyweds and had so much fun celebrating together. At the end of the evening Alexandra and Baylor exited their reception with a fun Gold pom pom send off. Such a unique twist on the normal sparkler send off. This winter wedding was so perfectly thought out and the couple’s vision for their wedding day was so perfectly crafted by all of their wonderful vendors.
