It brings me so much joy to share Rachel and Forest’s wedding on my blog. From the very first time I spoke with them, I knew they were my kind of people. Rachel, with her compassionate servant’s heart, works in the medical field, while Forest is a resident ceramic artist at Harvard—a truly creative and kind soul. Together, they are they most dynamic couple!
The day began at the Hyatt Place in downtown Athens, a city that holds special meaning for Rachel. So many of her closest friendships started in the classic city! Athens served as the perfect gathering spot for their family and friends to celebrate their nuptuals. I started with the details and my second shooter Kelsey captured a few candids. Did you know… Rachel thrifted and hand embroidered each bridesmaids name on their getting ready shirts. How creative and personalized is that!?
We kicked off the day with a heartfelt first look at Georgian Hall. This private moment was incredibly sweet and gave Rachel and Forest a quiet pause before the whirlwind of festivities began.
After the first look, we captured portraits of the entire wedding party. Rachel’s warm and personable nature was reflected in her bridal party, which was filled with close friends who clearly held a special place in her heart. Despite the large group, everything flowed seamlessly, and we stayed perfectly on schedule. It was such a joy to photograph a group that was so kind and cooperative.
The ceremony took place at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Athens, an absolutely stunning venue. Rachel and Forest exchanged handwritten vows, and it was a truly moving moment. The beauty of the church, combined with the heartfelt words they shared, made for an unforgettable ceremony.
Following the ceremony, we headed to the reception at Georgian Hall. While my second shooter captured gorgeous behind-the-scenes details of the reception space, I photographed Rachel and Forest as newlyweds. The lighting was perfect, and these intimate portraits are some of my favorites from the day.
The reception was full of energy, with heartfelt speeches, lots of laughter, and plenty of dancing. It was clear how much joy Rachel and Forest’s friends and family felt as they celebrated the couple’s love.
The night ended on a truly special note with a private last dance for Rachel and Forest. This quiet moment perfectly reflected their connection as a couple—intimate, well-connected, and full of love. It was the perfect way to conclude their wedding day.
Rachel and Forest’s wedding was a dream to capture, and I hope you enjoy looking through these beautiful moments as much as I enjoyed being a part of their day.
