The Best Wedding Venues in Atlanta – that aren’t barns

If you are planning a wedding in Atlanta, chances are you are know how difficult it can be to find the best Wedding Venue in Atlanta. Specifically, not a barn. This is the biggest struggle I hear from clients as they begin planning their wedding.

This is why I’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of the best wedding venues in Atlanta that are not barns (don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with barns…it just is a little overkill here in the south).

I hope this list gives you life and points you towards your dream wedding venue!

Let’s start with…

Venues within 1 Hour of Atlanta

Located right next to Piedmont park, The Piedmont Room is the perfect location for a chic and modern wedding in Atlanta. The skyline views are perfect! Courtney & Brandon had the best wedding here over the summer; see their blog post here.

If you are looking for something with historical charm, The Cedars is perfect! Located in downtown Acworth, this venue offers several in-house vendors for planning ease. Check out this winter wedding that Brandy & Jason held at The Cedars.

Located in historic Norcross, Flint Hill is the perfect romantic venue! It is truly a great choice for any time of year with their capability to transform the space depending on the weather conditions. Check out this gorgeous wedding at Flint Hill.

Located south of Atlanta, Serenbe is perfect for any couple looking for a serene and quiet wedding location. The Inn offers 6 different ceremony locations on the Inn grounds. What an amazing variety!

Best Wedding Venues in Atlanta for Large Weddings

The Swan House is an iconic 1928 mansion located in Buckhead. The house was acquired by the Atlanta Historical Society in 1966. You might recognize it from films like The Hunger Games. A few favorite highlights include the private lawn with majestic cascading fountains and the elegant intimate Boxwood Garden. An Atlanta gem!

The Engine Room is a unique event venue located in historic downtown Monroe, GA. This venue is part of the Monroe Cotton Mills that used to house the engines that ran the mill machinery. Located in Buckhead, The Grand Hyatt holds a few secret wedding treasures. My favorite part of this venue has to be the Japanese Zen Garden and its indoor 30-foot waterfall. Completely amazing! See how Mark & Heather used this space for their wedding reception.

Located right in the city is St. Regis Atlanta. Couples looking for romantic elegance will fall in love with what this space offers. From larger weddings (like Jill & Andrew’s wedding at the Grand Terrace) To intimate celebrations (like Walker & Julie’s reception at the restaurant Atlas) This venue truly fits the bill for any size wedding and obviously had to make the cut for the Best Wedding Venues in Atlanta.

Nothing is quite like the beautiful, glass chapel that Ashton Gardens has for your wedding ceremony. Located in Sugar Hill Georgia, this venue accommodates for every detail of your day. The perfect all-in-one venue location. Ashton Gardens has such a sleek and luxurious atmosphere.

Great Rain Plan Venues in Atlanta

Located in the heart of downtown Acworth, The Cowan Mill is the perfect event space for couples looking for a cozy & heartfelt experience. Their newly added, open air porch makes your ceremony location an easy choice! Rustic meets modern!

Farm Style meets Glam – Little River Farms is the perfect southern wedding venue for the modern day couple. Even with rain, their indoor reception space is breathtaking and an easy option for ceremony changes.

This is the most perfect natural light venue! The open air space makes is the easiest rain plan venue for weddings which is why it made the list for top list of best Wedding Venues in Atlanta. The Butterfly Pavilion is located right off 75 and easy for guest to access. Their customization options make it easy for couples as their plan their wedding!

The Greystone Estate is an elegant, all-inclusive wedding venue in north Georgia just 40 minutes from Atlanta in Ball Ground, Georgia. The outdoor and indoor ceremony locations are the perfect choice for any chance of rain. As an added bonus, Greystone can accommodate up to 200 guest. Making it yet again one of best Wedding Venues in Atlanta, in my opinion obviously.

Empire Mills is a historically preserved and restored cotton seed oil mill turned event venue, located in historic Madison, Georgia. You are sure to fall in love with this venue! This venue includes two multi-room indoor event space options and two outdoor courtyards. Such a gorgeous space!

Intimate & Small Wedding Venues in Atlanta

Toccoa Falls is located at Toccoa Falls College and it the perfect backdrop for an intimate ceremony. The waterfall is a short walk from their main building, The Gate Cottage. The waterfall is 186 feet and is absolutely breathtaking – no need for ceremony music as you can just listen to the sound of the waterfall.

The North Star library is the perfect venue for a micro wedding. This space can seat up to 30 guest and has tons of natural light, exposed brick & stellar downtown Atlanta views. From intimate groups to larger gatherings, their library and layout give an upscale and understated ambiance with custom furniture and cool accent pieces, all centered around a gorgeous wall of bookshelves with a range of curated titles for the historically and culturally inclined. Making it a perfect backdrop for a small wedding ceremony.

For a more outdoor, garden setting, Cator Woolford is a romantic option for anyone looking to have a smaller wedding. The gardens are beautiful year-round!

Located just minutes from downtown Dahlonega, The Juliette Chapel is a beautiful option for a smaller gathering. The chapel brings simple elegance to the rustic outdoors. Which is fitting for a wedding in the north Georgia mountains. If you need easy accommodations, your guests can stay at the nearby bed & breakfast next door (Limelight Inn).

Wow Factor Venues in Atlanta

Tuscan vibes in the breathtaking North Georgia Mountains. Montaluce Winery & Restaurant is the perfect setting for you to host your wedding. If you want to impress your guests, you have the option to create your own custom menu. How unique is that?

Nestled in a forest in Blue Ridge is a colonial style village that includes the Wythe Estate, Wetherburn’s Tavern, and a Virginia chapel from the 1700s. Built by an eccentric visionary in the 1980s, the estate is taking on a new life as an upscale mixed-use property. This venue will definitely impress any history buff with its historical charm and beauty! You might even get to meet their resident Peacock!

Classic & Timeless Wedding Venues

Lucas and Brooke had a gorgeous September wedding in the gardens of the Hilton Conference Center.

TPC Sugarloaf is perfect for any classic bride. And bonus points if you enjoy golf, as this location is a part of the PGA golf tour. Their pristine lawn and lake views are a wonderful ceremony choice. They also have an indoor option as well!
